Who Persist

The jaded sun
Sees itself in our eyes
While the rest of us
Survive
Even the birds have security
In their numbers
Who answers the call of loneliness
Some don't hear the call
At all
Safety in numbers means nothing
When your lonely inside
And while the birds peck for food
And some don't answer the call
The beauty is the silence inside
Our wants deafening our ears
Still I want

We sleep in the jaded sun
Afraid of our own victory
Until the time is right
And the tears have been shed
when there's no blood
Being shed
The victory goes to those
Who persist
So let the sun be jaded
For it can see the suffering
The pain reminds me
Of the error of my ways
And that comes from a place
Of security
